PRAY, READ AND BE FAIR
Important truths when raising a family.
Have you ever tried to get everything right and somehow everything seems to go wrong?
When troubles, demands and day-to-day life leave you feeling overwhelmed and in despair, what do you do?
How do you make it through difficulty?
How do you make it through another day? Another week?
How do you successfully raise godly kids?
How do you keep calm in your present situation?
Allow me to give you a few suggestions that have worked for me. Very important truths.
- Read God’s Word
- Be fair
With your husband, kids and all of them having different needs at different times, it is important to know where your help comes from …
“My help comes from the Lord, who made heaven and earth” Psalm 121:1-2
When you need help from God, cry out, “help me”. Jesus always encouraged me during my mothering years. I felt His strength when I prayed. In fact, some of the sweetest moments in life has come during these times of prayer.
Read God’s Word
You would think that’s a given, however, so many people never read God’s instruction manual. The Bible has an answer for every problem.
It is so important to find God’s answer and apply His wisdom to the situation. Be honest, before God. Admit your failures to Him. He’ll help you be good.
Are your children simply acting like kids or are they truly rebellious?
Are they just plain tired? Or are you just worn out?
Unfair treatment will bring deep-seated anger. Be fair. We all make wrong judgements at times, however, let those times be an exception not the norm.
“I cried out to the Lord, and he answered me …”. Psalm 3:4
“Children are a gift from the LORD; they are a reward from him”.
Psalm 127:3 “Do not let any unwholesome talk come out of your mouths, but only what is helpful for building others up …”. Ephesians 4:29
“Dear Heavenly Father, I know you see me today and know all my struggles. I feel so overwhelmed but come to you in my time of need. I too cry, “help me”. I believe that you will make me good”.
